About Artist:
Ashton was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in Aug 2014.
Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) occurs in patients when the body accumulates too many immature Langerhans cells. A Langerhans cell is a type of white blood cell that normally helps the body fight infection. In LCH, too many Langerhans cells are produced and then build up in certain parts of the body where they can form tumors or damage organs.
Fortunately for Ashton his tumor has dissolved and he has made a full recovery.
He is looked after by The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, which is why we chose to make them our charity to donate to.
